Choosing The Right Babolat String

Babolat uses a three tier classification system to help players better understand which string would suit their game, Player A, B, or C. Use the guide below to help you find which type of player you are and which string would best suit your game.

Natural Gut

Babolat VS Team

This 17 gauge string, made from cow’s gut, offers a high level of power, comfort and tension maintenance. By layering many fibres into a condensed core at a high temperature, this string's performance is more lively and arm-friendly. Now with the addition of BT7 technology (new layering structure) the string’s durability has also increased by 17%.

Designed for Player Profile A.

Babolat VS Touch

This 16 gauge string offers all of the properties of the Babolat VS Team, with the added benefit of increased durability. By increasing the thickness of a string’s diameter, the string will perform the same while increasing the string’s longevity. Now with the addition of BT7 technology (new layering structure) the string’s durability has also increased by 17%.

Designed for Player Profile A.

Multifilament

Babolat Xcel

By designing this string with high-tech, highly elastic polyamide material, makes this one of the most comfortable strings on the market.

Designed for Player Profile A.

Wrap

Babolat Synthetic Gut

Babolat Synthetic Gut features a solid nylon core, which allows for high levels of flexibility at ball impact. Comfort is further enhanced by wrapping the core with multiple polyamide monofilaments. This all-around string also offers great power and control potential, with excellent tension maintenance.

Designed by Player Profile B.

Babolat Powergy

Babolat Powergy string’s performance is directly attributed to its double wrap composition. The core is made of solid polyamide, which is wrapped in two layers of multiple polyamide monofilaments. By adding in a second layer, flexibility is enhanced. This provides greater power potential than other wrap strings. The whole structure is enclosed with a polyamide coating to increase durability, compared to coating-less strings.

Designed for Player Profile B.

Monofilament

Babolat Origin

Origin utilizes a bio-based polyamide material, as opposed to synthetic polyesters like most other monofilaments. This innovative material provides unmatched power and comfort for its class, without sacrificing the control and durability that monofilaments are known for. In other words, this string was designed to feel like natural gut but perform like a polyester monofilament.

Designed for Player Profile C.

Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour

Pro Hurricane Tour is octagonal in shape which provides unparalleled spin potential compared to other monofilaments. By adding in multiple edges along the string’s profile it is better able to bite into the ball and therefore provide greater rotations per minute on snapback. Control is further enhanced with the polyamide coating around the co-polyester monofilament.

Designed for Player Profile C.

Babolat RPM Blast

RPM Blast features a high density co-polyester monofilament composition. Like Pro Hurricane Tour is it octagonally shaped. At each junction between two strings (mains and crosses) each string hits one another on a flat side, verses an edge like other shaped strings do. This means the strings can move more freely against one another, creating greater snapback and string sliding and leading to overall greater spin potential prodcution. In addition, RPM Blast offers a cross-linked silicone coating that further aids ease of sliding.

Designed for Player Profile C.

Babolat RPM Team

RPM Team offers the same durability and spin potential as RPM Blast. However, it features a low density co-polyester monofilament which produces a much softer feel. Overall, this is a much more arm-friendly string than RPM Blast.

Designed for Player Profile C.

Babolat RPM Dual

RPM Dual has the same high density co-polyester monofilament twisted with a titanium co-polyester. This provides incredible stiffness and durability. With the same cross-linked silicone coating as the other RPM stings, the strings still move freely across one another.

Designed for Player Profile C.
