We are looking for someone to assist our marketing team from our head office location in the Leaside area. Our ideal candidate is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about racquet sports and retail. They are educated or experienced in marketing, content creation for social media, aware of current marketing and social media trends, and are interested in event planning and on-site activations.

  • Reports to eCommerce Director & Marketing Team
  • Compensation: $20-25/hour (depending on work experience and qualifications)
  • Benefits available after 1 year of employment
  • 3-month probationary term

Job Responsibilities

  • Social media channel focused content coordination and creation (photo, video, stories etc)
  • Social media channel ongoing maintenance (reporting, updating, communications etc)
  • Assist in development and implementation of marketing strategies and campaigns (social, email, website and in-store etc)
  • Work with partners to help coordinate and facilitate shared marketing efforts (vendors, third-party marketers, sponsorship partners etc)
  • Event planning and facilitation (company events, local club event presence, tournament on-site presence etc)
  • Maintain and update marketing and events calendar
  • Copywriting support (product descriptions, website information etc)
  • Data entry support (product uploading, social shop feed management etc)
  • Ongoing reporting and documentation of tasks and responsibilities where necessary
  • Occasional inter-department assistance

Candidate Experience

  • Education or industry experience in digital marketing or related fields
  • Social media for business (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc)
  • Event planning/coordinating/facilitation
  • Digital copywriting (email, blogs, posts, product descriptions etc)
  • Imaging software (Photoshop, basic video editing, photo apps etc)
  • Document software (Microsoft Office, Google Suite etc)
  • Driving license required

Candidate Personality

  • Enthusiasm for sports and ideally the sport of tennis and/or other racquet sports
  • Enthusiastic, positive, outgoing and collaborative
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organized, pro-active and detail-oriented
  • Willingness and flexibility to learn and perform new tasks

Working Conditions

  • Full-time 40 hours per week during regular business hours (10am to 6pm) with opportunity for flexible hours
  • This role requires the employee to primarily work on-site with occasional work-from-home depending on current job requirements
  • Some travel between company and event locations in Greater Toronto Area
  • Some evening, weekend and overtime work might be required during special events and busy periods
