Description

With the latest edition, the FX Team 285 continues to be Dunlop's most affordable intermediate racquet and is suitable for a wide variety of players, from novices to experienced players looking for a racquet at a great price point while still offering a competitive feel.

The 100 square inch head size provides an excellent blend of control and power with a forgiving response. Paired with the 16 x 19 string pattern, it delivers a lively feel with easy access to spin. Weighing 10.1 ounces (285 grams) unstrung, the racquet is lighter than many intermediate frames, making it easy to swing while still providing enough stability for confident shot-making. Its 6 points head-light balance (unstrung) allows for quick racquet acceleration, helping generate racquet head speed for power and spin while remaining agile around the net for fast volley exchanges. The 23mm / 26mm / 24mm variable beam optimizes both power and comfort throughout the frame.

Enhancing these physical characteristics are the technologies built into the racquet's construction. Dunlop has increased the frame's flexibility to create a more forgiving and comfortable feel at impact, while an updated grommet system improves power by increasing energy return across the string bed. This combination helps maintain lively performance despite the more comfortable frame response. For added comfort, Sonic Core technology remains strategically positioned at the 2 and 10 o'clock areas of the hoop to reduce unwanted shock on off-centre hits. In addition, Power Grid String Tech optimizes the string layout to create a larger-than-usual sweet spot while enhancing spin potential.

Combined with these technologies, the FX Team 285 delivers a comfortable, forgiving feel with consistent contact and easy all-around playability. Its intermediate-friendly specifications and accessible price make it an excellent value for players looking for a dependable racquet to build confidence and improve their game.

  • Sonic Core: Located at the 2 and 10 o’clock areas of the racquet. Super-elastic, super-light material, offers rebound properties significantly higher than other materials. Reduced vibrations mean reduced impact and more comfort.
  • Power Boost-Groove: Grommet Structure- A wider and deeper precision groove engineered into the racquet frame creating more pull-back of the strings at impact, resulting in more power.
  • Power Grip String Tech: Put control in the palm of your hand. Re-designed string bed is larger across the main & cross strings, providing more even power distribution, particularly at the racquet top. String movement generates more power & spin.
  • Power Boost Frame Geometry: Increased power and stability. An aerodynamic power head shape provides a sharp, modern looking shaft. The wider throat provides more stability.
