Description

Designed for all-around players seeking aerodynamic spin with consistent comfort, the 8th-generation Yonex VCORE 98 Tour is ideal for advanced and experienced players who need a racquet that delivers elevated control and precision while generating aggressive spin that holds up against strong opponents and supports a powerful, high-level game.

The 98-square-inch head sits on the smaller side of average, offering a control-oriented response that rewards experienced players who consistently find the sweet spot. At 11.1 ounces, the heavier weight delivers excellent stability for taking big swings or redirecting pace at net, while the head-light balance preserves manoeuvrability for quick reactions and easy access to heavy spin. The open string pattern further enhances spin potential and adds a touch of extra power.

The latest VCORE introduces the most advanced spin-focused engineering in the series’ history, beginning with Yonex’s signature ISOMETRIC square-shaped frame and a newly sculpted upper hoop that together create the line’s largest-ever sweet spot for enhanced forgiveness and cleaner contact. Expanded inner grooves increase frame flex for improved ball hold and feel, reducing the harshness of off-centre hits while boosting spin potential, and newly designed grommets allow greater string movement to generate stronger snapback. The frame has also been aerodynamically refined based on different swing types to reduce air resistance, enabling smoother racquet head speed and sharper, higher-spinning shots. Complementing these structural upgrades, Yonex’s proprietary carbon technologies integrated throughout the frame, yoke, shaft, and grip enhance power, stability, and control—working in unison to give players a confident, consistent, and high-spin response on every strike.

Trusted by elite players on tour, the new VCORE series was developed through close collaboration with professional athletes to deliver high-spin performance that adapts to a wide range of swing types and power levels. With improved stability, comfort, and racquet head speed, it’s an impressive update that should position this racquet as a leading choice for advanced players seeking exceptional control and outstanding spin potential to support an aggressive, full-court game.

Orders expected to ship January 2026, no earlier than January 9th

  • Head Size: 98 sq. inches / 632 sq. cm
  • Length: 27 inches / 68.58 cm
  • Weight: 11.1 oz / 315 g unstrung
  • Balance: 7 pts head light / 320 mm unstrung
  • Swing Weight: coming soon
  • Beam width: 23mm / 23.5mm / 22mm
  • Flex: coming soon
  • Tension Range: 45-60 lbs / 20-27kg
  • String Pattern: 16/19
  • Year Introduced: 2026
  • Style #: 08VC98TR-338
  • ISOMETRIC: Developed over 30 years ago, the ISOMETRIC design increases the sweet spot by 7%. Compared to a conventional round frame, a square-shaped ISOMETRIC racquet generates a larger sweet spot by optimizing the intersection of the main and cross strings. ISOMETRIC technology delivers greater control without sacrificing power.
  • Aero Trench - Reduced Drag: To achieve faster head speeds for increased spin potential, the new Aero Trench reduces drag by uniquely hiding the grommets located at the top of the racquet frame.
  • LINER TECH - For Maximum Spin Potential: Newly engineered straight hole grommets allow more string movement on off-centered shots.
  • VDM (VIBRATION DAMPENING MESH): First used in Yonex’s snowboards to reduce vibrations at impact, Vibration Dampening Mesh (VDM) is now used in four of Yonex’s racquet series. VDM is a stretchy mesh material that is wrapped around the graphite within the grip to filter unwanted vibrations and improve touch and precision.
  • 2G-NAMD FLEX FORCE: Aggressive, attacking spin for pinpoint control is achieved through a carbon nanotube structure that binds the graphite fibers together, which reduces energy loss. Due to its resilient properties, the material flexes and provides quick snapback. Namd is technology developed by Nitta Co., Ltd. to uniformly disperse carbon nanotubes in carbon fiber composites.
  • SERVO FILTER: A transparent and elastic film placed between graphite layers helps bond the layers while maintaining its elastic characteristics even after the molding process. This unique film absorbs unwanted vibrations, provides fine-tuned flex and snapback to each shot, delivering precise sensory feedback from the ball to the hand. SERVO FILTER is a vibration-absorbing film developed by the Mitsubishi Chemical Group, which has high bonding properties with graphite and excels in both flexibility and durability

Photos used contain images of strings for illustration purposes. Adult tennis racquets are unstrung unless otherwise noted or stringing services have been selected above. Brand logo stencils are not applied by default with stringing services. If you request brand logo stencils, please note that a stencil is painted onto the strings within a brand's stencil and may wear off over time - this is how stencils are applied on tour. Depending on the string you select, the stencil paint application fullness, colour and visibility may vary.
Adult racquets generally do not come with covers. To protect your racquet, we recommend getting a racquet bag.

Product specs such as weight may vary slightly from racquet to racquet to what is advertised due to the manufacturing process.

Grip size palm measurements for tennis racquets

If you fall somewhere between the measurements, it is recommended to choose the smaller grip size as you can always build the grip size up using an overgrip (for a slight increase) or a grip build-up sleeve (for a half or full size increase). The grip measurements above factor in the pre-installed factory grip.
