The VCORE 98 is suitable for strong intermediates and experienced players who need a racquet to provide fantastic control and precision with the ability to deliver on aggressive spin. This racquet is slightly easier to handle than the VCORE 95 and so will appeal to a wider range of players.
The headsize of 98 square inches is on the smaller side of average and will provide players with a control-oriented response that should satisfy experienced players consistent in hitting with a smaller sweet spot. The weight of the frame is 10.8 ounces and being on the heavier side of average it will provide players with a very stable feel, great for big swings and redirecting fast-paced volleys. It's head light balance means that it will maintain great maneuverability, great for fast movement to enable quick reactions and heavy spin. The open string pattern will enable greater spin potential and additional power. The racquet's frame has been slightly thickened from the previous edition which improves the frame's stability and power generation.
In this generation, Yonex has added Flex Force, a graphite material incorporated in the upper throat to the lower frame to improve snapback of the racquet for improved spin generation. The design process for the frame has also considered its aerodynamics and has been molded to reduce air resistance which will enable easier maneuverability and as a result increased spin potential. The grommet system has been redesigned with String Sync Grommets which similarly improved movement of the strings and consequently improves snapback for greater ball bite and spin potential. The racquet's grip has a Vibration Dampening Mesh wrapped around the handle to improve comfort. As usual, the VCORE racquet series hoop is designed using Yonex's signature Isometric head shape so it benefits from a forgiving sweet spot for increased power without sacrificing the racquet's control.
Yonex has kept much of the previous VCORE 98 intact, while improving on the maximum spin potential. This racquet will satisfy experienced players who need exceptional control with outstanding spin potential for an aggressive full court game.

2G-NAMD FLEX FORCE:
Incorporated in the upper throat to the lower frame, new Flex Force graphite allows for the racquet to quickly flex and snapback for maximum spin potential.
VIBRATION DAMPENING MESH (VDM):
A stretchy mesh material is wrapped around the graphite within the grip to filter unwanted vibrations.
Aero Trench and Aero Fin Technology reduce air resistance for easy maneuverability and added spin.
STRING SYNC GROMMETS:
A thin grommet nozzle is inserted into a larger frame hole allowing the string to move together with the grommet for faster snapback.
Compared to a conventional round frame, a square-shaped ISOMETRIC racquet generates a 7% larger sweet spot that delivers greater control without sacrificing power.
Photos used contain images of strings for illustration purposes. Adult tennis racquets are unstrung unless otherwise noted or stringing services have been selected above. Brand logo stencils are not applied by default with stringing services. If you request brand logo stencils, please note that a stencil is painted onto the strings within a brand's stencil and may wear off over time - this is how stencils are applied on tour. Depending on the string you select, the stencil paint application fullness, colour and visibility may vary.
Adult racquets generally do not come with covers. To protect your racquet, we recommend getting a racquet bag.
Product specs such as weight may vary slightly from racquet to racquet to what is advertised due to the manufacturing process.
Adult Racquets Sizing Information
To determine your grip size without using a racquet, measure from the tip of your ring finger to the major fold crease in your palm. Write down the distance to the nearest 8th of an inch. This is your standard grip size.
If you fall somewhere between the measurements, it is recommended to choose the smaller grip size as you can always build the grip size up using an overgrip (for a slight increase) or a grip build-up sleeve (for a half or full size increase). The grip measurements above factor in the pre-installed factory grip.

This item has a dimensional weight of 1.0 kg per unit of quantity. Also known as volumetric weight, this is an estimated weight that is calculated from the length, width, height and actual weight of a package. It also takes into consideration oversize/fuel surcharges. It is not representative of the actual weight of a package. We use this estimated weight as the basis to our shipping rate calculations.
