One of the most iconic players' racquets of all time, the Prestige MP gets a technological update in the form of Graphene Touch technology and the results are enhanced levels of dampening and comfort while maintaining all of the control that has made it a favourite amongst experienced players since its inception.
The Graphene Touch Prestige MP boasts most of the same specifications as previous versions of the racquet. The relatively weighty 11.3 oz (320 g unstrung) static weight provides plenty of stability and lots of good plough-through. The 11 point head light balance (310 mm) produces a manageable 321 swingweight (strung), meaning this racquet is still fairly maneuverable and strong players should have no problem generating racquet head speed. The thin 21 mm constant beam width (meaning the entire racquet has the same cross section width) means the racquet is quite flexible (65 RA) and in turn offers plenty of control and precision. Those with full, fast swings will be able to pick and hit those close to the line targets with relative ease. The tight 18x20 string pattern combined with its 95 square inch head size also contributes to this racquet's high level of control and should favour those players that prefer to hit a flatter ball. Speaking of the head size, take note this is the same size as previous versions of the Prestige MP that were listed as 98 square inches. The head size has not changed, however Head has changed the method they employ to measure the head size.
The introduction of Graphene Touch technology enhances the dampening in the racquet and makes for a more muted and cushioned feel. Most will enjoy the increased levels of dampening, however, some purists might miss some of the feedback at impact that previous versions of the Prestige MP offered.
The Graphene Touch MP is a nice update to the best selling Prestige MP and is one that should help add to the racquet's already illustrious legacy.
