The Pure Drive Team has become and extremely popular choice with players looking for power and spin, but in a slightly lighter package. This updated Pure Drive Team is sure to sustain if not increase its popularity.
There is a reason the Pure Drive is one of if not the best-selling racquet of all time. It has always been extremely user friendly and offer an amazing blend of power and spin potential. Once the Pure Drive reached iconic status Babolat smartly started to make versions with different weights in order to broaden its reach to all types of players. The Pure Drive Team is targeted at those players looking for a powerful spin friendly racquet in a slightly lighter package.
With a weight of 10.1 ounces (285 grams) the Pure Drive Team is half an ounce lighter than the standard Pure Drive. This results in a racquet that is extremely easy to generate racquet head speed with, but still has enough mass to generate a good amount of plough through and power. A relatively head light balance (7 points head light) makes for a low swingweight of 316 (strung) and high levels of manoeuvrability.
For this latest version of the Pure Drive Team, Babolat has updated a couple of the their technologies. FSI Power technology still offers slightly wider spacing between the cross strings, but now also features diamond shaped grommets that result in more power and increased comfort. Babolat's shock dampening technology Cortex has also been updated. Now dubbed Cortex Pure Feel and equipped with thin viscoelastic fibres supplied by French company SMAC that are uniquely designed to dampen impact vibration. According to Babolat this version not only dampens more shock and vibration, but also produces a better sound and enhanced feel.
Like the rest of the racquets in the Pure Drive family, the Pure Drive Team offers plenty of access to spin. The FSI technology combined with the 16x19 string pattern provides lots of bite and also produce a launch angle that is slightly higher than previous versions of this racquet that helps in making sure balls penetrate deep into the court.
Fans of the previous generation of the Pure Drive Team will find plenty to love in this updated version and it would make a great choice for strong beginners, intermediates as well as juniors making the jump to an adult length racquet.

To determine your grip size without using a racquet, measure from the tip of your ring finger to the major fold crease in your palm. Write down the distance to the nearest 8th of an inch. This is your standard grip size.
If you fall somewhere between the measurements, it is recommended to choose the smaller grip size as you can always build the grip size up using an overgrip or a grip build-up sleeve.
