Description

The lightest and most powerful member of the MxG family, the MxG 7 is targeted towards players with slower, compact swings that are looking for a little assistance generating power.

Boasting a 115 square inch head, it should not come as a surprise that the MxG 7 brings some serious power to the table. The large head size, combined with the unique Magnesium open bridge design that allows for longer main strings, means the sweetspot on the MxG 7 is absolutely huge! However, the inclusion of Magnesium in the throat helps balance out some of the power and unwieldiness of the large head by preventing the upper hoop of the racquet from deforming at impact and providing a great deal of stability and some much needed control. The extra 0.6" in length provides a little extra reach and even more power, especially on serves. At 9.3 ounces (265 grams) unstrung, the MxG 7 is light without feeling flimsy and the 16x18 string pattern brings plenty of spin potential to the table. The inclusion of Graphene Touch technology means this racquet is quite comfortable, which is not always the case with lighter oversized frames.

If you are looking for a lightweight racquet with a large sweetspot and lots of power that manages at the same time to have some control and be comfortable, its hard to imagine you will find many better options than the MxG 7.

According to Head MXG is: The ultimate combination of power and control in one racquet. Until now, tennis racquets have offered either power or control, but Head was determined to combine both. Thanks to research and development, you no longer have to choose. The Revolutionary technology "MXG" merges two materials, Graphene and Magnesium, for the ultimate balance of power and control... like no other. Using an engineering process that is widely used in the automotive industry, the injection molded magnesium bridge is precision formed and provides ultimate stability at a very low weight. The secret to the "Power under Control" lies in the innovative magnesium bridge that is specifically designed for longer, free-moving main strings. This provides a much larger sweet spot and more power. At the same time, the solid magnesium bridge keeps the hoop from deforming and offers total control on every shot. MXG gives you power under control like no other.
  • Graphene Touch:
Now, the ground-breaking technology gets the ultimate update: the re-engineered Graphene Touch combines the power of Graphene with improved shock absorption upon impact resulting in an incredible touch and great sound. From the beginning the original innovative Graphene technology delivered increased power and maneuverability through optimized weight distribution. Throughout the years this revolutionary technology helped a big number of HEAD players win important victories and tournaments. With the perfect power level taken care of, HEAD started to re-engineer the world’s strongest yet lightest material and added a unique shock-absorbing material to the frame construction. The result is less shock thanks to faster vibration reduction after ball impact and an unparalleled touch providing consumers with even more wow moments. All this without compromising on the power level of Graphene that players and consumers around the world have come to appreciate. In other words: power never felt so good.
