A big factor in the pursuit of creating great tennis racquets has always been finding the perfect balance of power and control, normally regarded as being two inversely related properties. Add more power and you will lose some control and vise versa. It was with finding the perfect balance of power and control in mind that lead Head to develop their latest technology: MXG. To learn more about the MXG technology click on the "Technology" tab.
The MXG 3 is one of 2 new racquets being introduced by Head with their new MXG technology (the other being the MXG 5). Along with this new technology the MXG 3 boasts a set of specifications that are sure to make this racquet appeal to a wide range of players. The head size feels much larger than it's 100 square inch measurement, thanks to the revolutionary MXG throat design that allows for longer and free moving main strings. This is where a lot of this racquet's power comes from along with it's large sweet spot. The injected molded magnesium bridge is also key to the control offered by this racquet. This unique bridge design prevents the hoop of the racquet from deforming at impact offering more control on every shot. Weighing in at 10.4 ounces (295 grams) unstrung, the MXG 3 is light enough to be very maneuverable while having enough mass to feel solid from all areas of the court. The 16x18 string pattern should provide plenty of spin potential. Although it has a slightly higher flex rating of 71, thanks to the Graphene Touch technology, this racquet feels far from stiff. The MXG is worth a demo for any intermediate to advanced player looking for a racquet that has a great blend of power and control.

Dimensional weight, also known as volumetric weight, is an estimated weight that is calculated from the length, width, height and actual weight of a package. It also takes into consideration oversize/fuel surcharges. It is not representative of the actual weight of a package. We use this estimated weight as the basis to our shipping rate calculations.
