Description

Babolat updates the best-selling Pure Aero, racquet choice of Rafael Nadal, and the results are a racquet that offers more control and feel while still retaining it's title as the ultimate spin racquet.

The task of updating the market's best-selling racquet is never an easy endeavour, however, Babolat realized that they shouldn't mess with a good thing and smartly kept much of the previous version of the Pure Aero's specification intact for this redesigned and re-engineered update. The racquet's weight remains 10.6 ounces unstrung with a 7 points head-light balance. This coupled with the racquet's Aeromodular design makes for a racquet that swings through the air with ease. Generating power and spin should not be a problem for players of almost any skill level. It's versatility and that fact that it appeals to such a wide range of players and playing styles is what has always made the Pure Aero, as well as the Aero Pro drive that preceeded it, such a hot seller. This new version should be no different. If there has been one aspect of the past versions of this racquet that some players did not love, it would be its fairly stiff flex. Babolat has addressed this by moving their Cortex Pure Feel technology to the head of the racquet at 3 and 9 o'clock. This results in a noticeably softer feel at impact as well as a touch more control. A change that most players will welcome. Babolat's FSI Spin technology is back in the Pure Aero 2019. Wider spacing between the strings in the sweetspot provide extra bite into the ball and oblong grommets at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions which create more string snapback to further enhance spin potential.

With a little more feel and a touch more control, the Pure Aero 2019 is sure to appeal to fans of previous versions of the Pure Aero and Aero Pro Drive. We think these positive changes will only help to add to this racquet's best-selling status. We are also a fan of the updated cosmetic!

  • Carbon Ply Stabilizer:
Superior stability for increased precision thanks to a new generation of high-performance carbon fibers developed by Chomarat added in the core of the racquet.
  • Woofer System:
The first and most effective frame-string link system: a longer ball-string contact time for greater control and a sensation of comfort.
  • Aero Technology:
Aerodynamic frame shape that allows the racquet to penetrate the air more easily for optimal power and spin.
  • Cortex Pure Feel:
Better vibration damping thanks to new material powered by SMAC integrated in the graphite at 3 and 9 o'clock that provides an exceptional feel.
  • Aeromodular 3:
Woofer technology built directly into the mid-section of the new frame strategically shaped to reduce wind drag and boost swing speed, offering an average of 11% less drag. With the introduction of the 2019 Pure Aero Line, Babolat opens the bumper and removes the long side/short side string installation while keeping deeper string channels for protection against premature string breakage.
  • FSI Spin:
A broader weave in the string bed and an oblong opening between the grommets at the top and the bottom of the head. Wider spaces between cross strings 5-12 for more ball bite and higher RPMs.

Photos used contain images of strings for illustration purposes. Adult tennis racquets are unstrung unless otherwise noted or stringing services have been selected above. Brand logo stencils are not applied by default with stringing services. If you request brand logo stencils, please note that a stencil is painted onto the strings within a brand's stencil and may wear off over time - this is how stencils are applied on tour. Depending on the string you select, the stencil paint application fullness, colour and visibility may vary.
Adult racquets generally do not come with covers. To protect your racquet, we recommend getting a racquet bag.

Product specs such as weight may vary slightly from racquet to racquet to what is advertised due to the manufacturing process.

Grip size palm measurements for tennis racquets

If you fall somewhere between the measurements, it is recommended to choose the smaller grip size as you can always build the grip size up using an overgrip (for a slight increase) or a grip build-up sleeve (for a half or full size increase). The grip measurements above factor in the pre-installed factory grip.
