Description

The 2021 Pure Drive Plus takes the game-changing racquet from Babolat to a new level of power and feel with advanced technological additions. The Pure Drive is a modern legendary racquet. Since it's inception, it has inspired players to push their boundaries and inspired other racquet manufacturers with it's once-unique shape. What makes it popular is it's accessibility to a wide range of players, from intermediate to advanced as well as some strong beginners.

This is the Plus version of the Pure Drive, which means it is extended a half an inch to 27.6 inches in length. This will bring even more power with increased impact through the ball along with a bit more reach for even greater court coverage. While this racquet isn't for everyone, those who choose it will find crushing potential to batter their opponents off the court.

This version features "High Torsional Rigidity" which is an update to it's graphite construction which results in increased energy transfer on ball strike. Players should notice this effect even more on heavier shots which should result in increased power potential. With increased power comes the potential for players to encounter more vibration. Smartly, Babolat also updated their vibration control with improved vibration filtering material, "SWX Pure Feel", which should assist with reducing vibration, especially on off-center hits without sacrificing the feel of the ball.

Babolat has kept much of what has made the previous generations popular. At 100 square inches, the head size is a typical size for the majority of players and should provide a blend of control and power while it's open string pattern will generate easier spin and power. It's weight at 10.6 ounces has enough impact to provide great stability for intense play without being the heaviest racquet for easier access to power for long baseline rallies. It's head-light balance assists with all-court play enabling faster cuts at the ball for easier spin or quick corrections.

When compared to a traditional flat-beam racquet, the elliptical frame shape carried over from previous generations offers extra stability and energy transfer due to it's resistance to twisting especially on off-center hits which translates to more consistent power. This should become more apparent for players who prefer to stick at the baseline and hit heavier shots.

With Babolat's improvements to an already easy to recommend racquet, this is a no brainer for previous Pure Drive players. New players will welcome the dynamic experience this racquet brings with it's trademark power and spin-friendly potential.

Brand logo stencils are not applied by default with stringing services. If you request brand logo stencils, please note that a stencil is painted onto the strings within a brand's stencil and may wear off over time - this is how stencils are applied on tour. Depending on the string you select, the stencil paint application fullness, colour and visibility may vary.

Grip size palm measurements for tennis racquets

If you fall somewhere between the measurements, it is recommended to choose the smaller grip size as you can always build the grip size up using an overgrip (for a slight increase) or a grip build-up sleeve (for a half or full size increase). The grip measurements above factor in the pre-installed factory grip.
