Merchant of Tennis REVIEW:
Wilson [K]Blade Tour
One of the latest racquets from Wilson, The [K]Blade Tour, is the choice of the first Grand Slam winner of 2008, Australian Open Champion Novak Djokovic. According to Wilson, the [K]Blade Tour is the ultimate in precision within its [K]Blade family. After our play test with the frame, we couldn’t agree more. For the player looking for a smaller head size with great feel, this is a sure winner. In comparison to the [K]Six-One 90 (Roger Federer’s frame) you can notice a little more power and maneuverability. This comes from the 3 distinct elements: 1) Extra 3 square inches in head size (93 sq. in. compared to 90 sq. in.). 2) Lighter weight (Strung weight of 11.8 oz compared to 12.5 oz). 3) Head light balance (8pts head light compared to 9 pts head light). Its flexibility along with a tight 18 x 20 string bed enables incredibly precise shots from the baseline and exceptional feel for volleys. We also found it very stable on off-centered shots.
From our play test, overall, we found the [K]Blade Tour to be a great all-around “players” frame with tremendous feel and control. This racquet is definitely designed for the player who can provide their own power and seeks control in each and every shot.
